Charity and not for profit organisations may find the following sites of interest:

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) - provides services to help donors support charities tax-effectively; banking and investment services for charities as well as payroll giving facilities and advice for companies.

Charity Commission - holds information on all charities registered in England and Wales. This site has recently been improved and now includes contact details such as fax, email and website, as well as the past four years gross income and expenditure. The website also includes a full list of Charity Commission publications, some of which can be downloaded.

Big Lottery Fund - was formed from the merger of the Community Fund and the New Opportunities Fund. The site contains news items, details of current grants programmes and has application forms which can be downloaded.

Department of Culture, Media and Sport - provides a brief overview of all the lottery boards. It does not currently include application forms that can be downloaded.

Directory of Social Change - one of the largest independent organisations providing training and publications for the voluntary sector.

National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) - the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in England. This site includes recent news of interest to the voluntary sector, details of NCVO courses, events and information networks. The NCVO runs a freephone Voluntary Sector Helpdesk, the number for which is 0800 2 798 798.

Speakers Trust - a national network of speakers and trainers helping people develop their communication skills.

Volunteering England   - their Volunteer Management Portal is  a website for people managing volunteers. It aims to provide greater access to a wide range of information on support, training and development opportunities.

VolResource - a weekly email newsletter providing current news and information on topics which impact on the voluntary and community sector including legislation.

UK Fundraising - a resource for UK charity and non-profit fundraisers and a very useful source of news and expertise on fundraising on the Internet. This site is updated daily.
